The magic of money
Among Europe’s most famous ski mountains alongside Chamonix, Val d’Isre brags 416 kilometres of marked pistes. The season gets going in early November and stops in mid May. Val d’Isere caters for all your needs. The town stretches through the vale from La Daille until Le Fornet with the focus on Val Village. This bunch of attractive buildings contain chic shops many of which have developed since Val d’Isere was voted for the winter olympics.
Spred over 3 areas the town has enough pistes for all skiers. Val d’Isere has a good historical snow record, the resort is enormously fashionable among pro boarders and mileage hungry intermediates, however you do not need to be particularly advanced to enjoy what is on offer. It is easy to why a lot of English are attracted to the mountain, with its famous night-life and the choice of amusement on offer, but the proximity of Tignes allows you to venture out to less frantic climes if it all becomes a bit much.
Pros
A superior apres ski in the Alps. Everybody talks English. Quick access to Val d’Isre and Tignes collectively known as the the Espace Killy skiing area. There is lots of traffic and whilst there are frequent buses during the day, committed apres skiers ought head to be within a short walking distance from the town centre.
Cons
Pricy. Busy and fashionable with the English, and so not for people looking for a typical French town to enjoy a relaxing vacation. Many skiing lifts can close in windy conditions. Several tricky blue and green slopes.
