The magic of money
Working his way from modest beginnings, Intelius chief executive officer and founder Naveen Jain has gone a long way into achieving success. He manages to stand out in both areas of business and philanthropy. In September 6, 1959, he was born and raised in India’s fifth largest state, Uttar Pradesh. Upon growing up, he took up an undergraduate course in engineering at the Institute of Technology in Roorkee and his postgraduate degree in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations at the XLRI Jamshedpur School of Business and Human Resources.
After finishing his post degree, Naveen Jain immigrated to the United States through a business exchange program. He had his first employment at New Jersey’s Burroughs Corporation. In 1989, the global computer technology company, Microsoft Network, hired him. There, he initially served as a program manager for the company’s operating system OS/2. He was also able to work on other operating systems for the company including MS-DOS, Windows NT and Windows 95. Eventually, he got promoted to the position of group manager for MSN, a post he held until his resignation in 1996.
Right after he left the corporation, Naveen Jain founded InfoSpace. His first company develops software and application services for Web-based e-mails and personal homepages to clients while also serving as an online search engine and Internet directory. He was InfoSpace’s CEO from 1996 right until he consigned the firm to a new director.
In 2003, He was able to form another company, Intelius. He has established the company with the intention of enabling people to find security, reconnect with long-lost acquaintances and family members as well as to equip consumers and businesses with the information they need to be able to make the right decisions. Intelius has enjoyed success right from its inception. This is reflected in the numerous awards and recognitions it has garnered.
In addition to his entrepreneurial success, Jain is also turning heads in the field of philanthropy. His generosity has allowed him to offer huge contributions to several charities and institutions such as Kindering Care, United Way and the Seattle Art Museum.
